Frequently Asked Questions

Are SCECHs available?

Yes. #TalkingAAC will offer State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECH) to teachers licensed in the state of Michigan. Please bring your PIC number and be ready to sign in each day of the event.

Are ASHA CEUs available?

#TalkingAAC is not a certified ASHA CEU provider. We do not provide ASHA CEUs that will be listed on your CEU registry. But the time spent at #TalkingAAC can still count towards maintaining your CCC's.

Speech-language pathologists attending #TalkingAAC will receive an ASHA Verification of Attendance form following the completion of the event. SLPs are able to self-track these hours towards their necessary Professional Development Hours (PDH). While these hours will not show up on your ASHA CEU registry, they still count towards your total PDH.

"ASHA Certification Maintenance Standards require that all certificate holders (CCC-A and CCC-SLP) must accumulate 30 professional development hours (PDHs) during each 3-year certification maintenance interval in order to maintain their ASHA Certificates of Clinical Competence." (CCC). https://www.asha.org/certification/maintain-ccc/

Is the livestream option recorded?

No. The livestream sessions are only available live. All times are Eastern Daylight Time.

Attending the livestream option allows participants to join #TalkingAAC from anywhere in the world. But due to the many legal and licensing issues surrounding professional content, we cannot record and offer these sessions on-demand.

We encourage our livestream attendees to set aside time as if you were attending an in-person event. You save on the travel and lodging, yet still get to learn from some outstanding people in the field of AAC.

Where can I stay if I attend in-person?

The #TalkingAAC 2023 Conference will take place at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center in East Lansing, Michigan on October 19th & 20th, 2023. There are rooms held at this venue, as well as other local hotels. For more information and discount codes, please visit the link below.
