Kim Rankin - Parent & Educator

Comprehensive Literacy Instruction at Home: A Solution Not Solely for Homeschoolers

Kim attended Drs. Erickson and Koppenhaver's three-day workshop on Comprehensive Conventional Literacy in March 2019 seeking insight in supporting her then six-year old son's literacy development in their homeschool environment. Nathaniel is non-speaking and uses AAC. The strategies she learned at the conference drastically changed their educational journey. Kim will share a few insights from their experience and provide an observation of three families who are not homeschooling, but implementing comprehensive literacy strategies at home to supplement school provided instruction.
